Collecting, Cutting, and Processing

To ensure the quality of bamboo charcoal, we need to choose well-grown, mature bamboo. Then the collected bamboo will be cut, removing the root and top part and cutting the bamboo into proper length.

Soaking and Air-drying

Soak the cut bamboo to remove the impurities from it. This step usually involves soaking in water for some time. The soaked bamboo is dried and air-dried to bring it to the proper moisture content to ensure the quality of the bamboo charcoal.

Charring in a Charcoal Stove

The air-dried bamboo is loaded into a charring oven. The charcoal oven is an airtight container that controls the temperature and the flow of oxygen. At high temperatures, the moisture and organic materials in the bamboo evaporate and are collected and utilized, and the remaining carbonaceous material forms bamboo charcoal in the low-oxygen environment of the charcoal oven.

Cooling and Screening

When the bamboo charcoal carbonization is finished the temperature is very high and it needs to be cooled down, we usually wait for the carbonized material to cool down to room temperature and take it out of the charcoal oven with the proper tools.

The collected bamboo charcoal is screened to remove impurities and incompletely charred parts. Finally, the bamboo charcoal is packaged so that high-quality bamboo charcoal is made.
